Writing a letter: The Story Begins
Dear readers,
We activists and usually people who love technology have adopted the habit of writing and sending letters to those who don’t have access to computers, the Internet, destined to live their lives cut off of advanced ways of communication. We also ask you to send letters, and try finding better ways of providing support to people we hold dear, who are our friends, family members and actual life heroes.
I will eventually give you some ideas about what to write or send, how to do it and show you what kind of support is already available to them. We will provide you with an address, a short biography and a wish list for books, whenever available. The people that you will be communicating with are imprisoned, possibly facing a decade or two, under the CFAA law in the United States. We wish to share their story, to let it be known, that they haven’t caused harm or injury to any other living being in order to deserve such punishment. However, many who do commit violent crimes have returned to freedom in less than ten years.
Imprisonment, solitary confinement or SHU, lack of health treatment, loss of freedom for years, or even decades is the sort of punishment that has been inflicted upon a specific group of people consisted of hackers, journalists, and whistleblowers. In fact, a growing number of citizens including activists.

(2) Package in a C5 white envelope, use lined paper for handwriting, and white paper for print outs.

Reform the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act

Under the rule of the CFAA law, imprisoned, our heroes are locked away in a US facility.
Do you know for how long? How many years? See the counter right below. |
The tragic death of Aaron Swartz, a 26-year-old coder and social activist, has shone a light on the sad truth about America's misguided computer crime law. The Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA) is a draconian law, and its vague language broadly criminalize accessing a computer without "authorization". It doesn't explain what it actually means. It's enacted with heavy-handed penalties and shows no regard for whether an act was done to further the public good.
